garage door installation

If you’re in the market for a new garage door installation, you may be wondering where to start and what to expect. At Sterling Door, our professional technicians make the process smooth and easy. If you’re to begin the process, here’s what to expect from start to finish.

1. Estimate

Before the garage door installation, a salesman will come and do an initial inspection of your garage door. At this time, the salesman will go over options you have with a new garage door such as design, color and window choices. Once you decide on a garage door you like, we get the door ordered and scheduled.

2. Technician Arrival

On the day of the installation, the technician will inspect the site to make sure everything is cleared out of the way. Prior to the garage door installation date, we ask that the area where the installer will be working is cleared out.

3. Garage Door Installation

Next, the technician will remove all the old door sections, tracks and hardware. If we’re getting a new garage door opener installed, he will also be disassembled and removed. Secondly, the installer will mount the hardware to the sections. Then he will stack the sections. Most important he will ensure the springs and hardware are installed and balanced.

4. Garage Door Opener Installation

Finally, if purchased the technician will install the garage door opener. Typically the garage door opener is mounted to the ceiling in the center of the garage. The installer will attach the sensors. Installer will double check everything before hooking up the garage door opener. If an opener was installed, the technician will test all the remotes and keypad. Lastly, the installer will present the movement of the garage door and opener to the customer.
